Frequently Asked Questions

FF is a high-performance, ultra-thin foil designed for repeated use. It’s engineered with real aluminum foil and advanced polymer layers that provide flexibility, durability, and heat resistance, making it ideal for hair color and bleach.

Forever Foil is constructed with real aluminum foil that is welded to medical-grade, micro-layers of polymermembrane. This invisible skin technology behaves in a similar* way to when we wear gloves while working with chemicals. It is entirely non-reactive to virtually everything we use in the salon. *I say similar because regular gloves have a much lower melting point and are slightly porous and stain from color — Forever Foil does not stain at all and can technically be reheated up to 400 without significant damage, but must be cooled flattened otherwise it could remember the new heated shape. I like too use 350 when creating custom creases and folds. The final result from cross linking foil and lab-grade polymer is a pliable, durable reusable foil that can be used hundreds of times.

I started developing and using this around February 2024, and we're still going strong. Depending on the user, I'm assuming it can last at least a year — or honestly, forever. Over time, FF gets that "lived-in" feel: plusher, softer, and more moldable to the scalp and hair. Heavy-handed use or daily wash-and-dry cycles on high heat will break it in faster, but might shorten the lifespan... I don't know, we'll find out together. Like I said, l've been using mine for about a year and a half now. I usually high-heat rinse them in the sink before tossing them in a cold cycle in the machine. I dry on high heat for 10 minutes, then pull them out early. Gentle hand washing and air drying could make them last basically forever — and my method has definitely held up for over a year.

Yes! Forever Foil can be hand folded or heat creased. Creasing with a flat iron at 350°F makes a tighter, firmer fold and has lasting memory— it will remember the crease after washing. Hand folding lasts but may have a little pop at the fold; it still has memory, just not as much.

Forever Foil processing time is the same as traditional foil, if not faster!

Yes! We recommend pre-rinsing Foil with faucet or swirling them in sink of water first to remove excess product. For best results place Foil in a mesh laundry bag in washer and dryer. Try not to leave Foil in dryer for full dry cycle with WET towels, about 10 min is best.

PRO TIP: “Instant dry” by placing Foil with 2-3 DRY towels for 3-5 min on high.

Yes! The high setting on dryers ranges from 100-150°F. Did you know that Forever Foil is created with a temperature of 410°F? It can withstand very high heat.

Yes! You can wash/dry in any combination. You can hand wash, machine dry. You can also machine wash and then use a towel to wipe them dry.

Yes! You just need to create custom mini folds and heat crease at the top of the Foil.
